Word of the Day: Representative

Image-1-1

When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers—
the moon and the stars you set in place—
what are mere mortals that you should think about them,
human beings that you should care for them?
Yet you made them only a little lower than God
and crowned them with glory and honor.
You gave them charge of everything you made,
putting all things under their authority—
–Psalm 8:3-6 (NLT)

The Invitation: The night sky represents the majesty of God, and we often stare in awe of its magnificence. Christ followers represent God to the world and were designed to walk in honoring ways, carrying Kingdom authority. You are God’s representative wherever you go. Be in awe of the privilege.

Your Response: Lord, I’m in awe of the honor of being Your representative on earth. Make me aware of how to live in ways that show who You are to others. Which one of Your traits do You want me to be ready to share with those around me today?

After listening to the Lord, you may want to pray: Father God, thank you for the night sky and the way it represents Your greatness. Thank you that in the vastness of Your creation, You see each one of Your children. As Your representative on earth, may I help others know they are seen and then point them to You. Grow Your traits in me that I might represent You well. Amen.

Suddenly, the glory
of the God of Israel
appeared from the east.
The sound of his coming was like
the roar of rushing waters,
and the whole landscape
shone with his glory.

—Ezekiel 43:2 (NLT)
