The Invitation: Did you sense God’s encouragement as you prayed for the first gifts of our December Gift Giving opportunity? Let’s choose to take up the power and authority we have in Christ and partner with God in bringing priceless gifts to our loved ones this season. In the midst of the busyness of our celebration, let’s be a part of inviting heaven to come to earth.
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh,
for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses.
We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God,
and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ…
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
Your Response: Lord, thank you that You invite me to take up spiritual weapons and to be a part of destroying the work of the enemy. Thank you for the power of prayer and for the ways You encourage me as I pray and listen to You.
( This week, the Christmas Gift Guide includes prayers for the healing of relationships and for financial or other provision. Ask the Lord who to pray for this week, and fill in the names in the blank spaces. Perhaps you’d like to picture the Lord delivering these gifts to the people.)
Holy Spirit, of the people on my spiritual gift list this Christmas, whom would You like me to pray for? Of the people on my heart, who is in need of the gifts of healing of relationships or financial or other provision?
Healing of Relationships:
- Thank you, Lord, that ______________ gets rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, harsh words, and slander, as well as all types of evil behavior. Thank you that ______________ and the other person(s) involved are kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God through Christ has forgiven them. In Jesus’ name. (Ephesians 4:31-32 NLT)
- Thank you, Lord, that ______________ will pursue the things that make for peace and the building up of one another. In the name of Jesus Christ. (Romans 14:19)
Prayers for Financial or Other Provision:
- Thank you, Lord, that You will supply all of ________________’s needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. In Jesus’ name. (Philippians 4:19)
- Thank you, Father, that You will teach _________________ to profit and lead ___________ in the way he/she should go. In the name of Jesus Christ. (Isaiah 48:17)
