But blessed are those who trust in the LORD
and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.
They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit.
—Jeremiah 17:8 (NLT)
Listening Prayer Invitation: Our imagination is a tool God uses to speak to us. It’s a gift He has given that usually needs to be nurtured and developed. So today, in the midst of the beauty of spring, have some fun. Ask God to use a tree as an analogy, just like He does throughout the Bible, to give you wisdom and insight.
Your Response: Thank you, Lord, for blessing my imagination to be used in healthy, God-honoring ways. Thank you that I was created to hear from You. As I rest in Your presence, open my spiritual ears, eyes, and senses.
• Lord, if there was a tree that represented how You created me to live, what would it be?
• Why this tree, Lord?
• What keeps this tree healthy, and how does that relate to my relationship with You?
• Show me one surprising thing about this tree–something that makes me smile or marvel at You.
• And Lord, what is one thing You want to say to me through the Jeremiah verses above?
Take time to respond to your Heavenly Gardener in prayer–for He is tree-mendous!
Note: How did God speak to you? We’d love to have you leave a comment. As a Living a Spirit Led Life community, it’s fun to learn from one another.

So perfect for my morning. The peacefulness of being like a tree, not bothered or worried, producing fruit is my desire. Being in God’s word is like sitting by the riverbank.
Thanks ladies for your encouragement and teaching.
Beautiful analogy! Thank you for sharing. I can picture living by the riverbank, soaking up everything I need from the River of Life. Blessings to you, Lori.
