Even though we’ve been out of school for—actually decades, we still like the idea of a summer break. Not a break from God, but a break from our computer screens and deadlines.
And for a good part of our summer, we’ll be going back to the lake and the mountains—where Wi-Fi is sketchy and life’s a bit simpler, and where we appreciate the change of pace.
We want to keep in touch, though, so look for a Word of the Week—maybe Wednesdays, but maybe not. We’ll share with you what we’ve been thinking about and we hope you’ll do the same with us.
Hopefully you’ll continue to actively practice listening to God–everyday. Go to www.livingaspiritledlife.com and use the archived posts to initiate dialogue with God. Before you read your Bible, stop and pray, “Lord, highlight something in Your Word today and show me how to apply it to my life.”
If it’s been over a year since you’ve gone through our book, Welcome to The Father’s House, it might be a great study to go through this summer–either on your own or with a few friends. We re-edited it last summer, so be sure to get a new copy on Amazon.
Yes, it’s hard to make website posts when you’re in the lake or on the trail! But it’s not difficult to listen to God. May your summer be filled with God encounters, a few adventures, and being present with those you’re with.
We hope you’ll leave comments during the summer. We always enjoy hearing from you.

P.S. We’d love for you to continue to invite your friends to join our online community. Who do you know who might want to learn to hear from God in everyday living?
My sheep listen to My voice; I know them, and they follow Me.
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish.
No one can snatch them out of My hand.
–Jesus’ words in John 10:27-28
Your Response: Lord, I want to continue to grow closer to you and be transformed through Your Word. What would You like me to do this summer to stay connected to You?
