Just as we need defensive driving skills on the roadways of life, it’s helpful to know a few defensive relational skills for daily living, because things will happen that we never expected. Rather than giving into fear or flight, remember that we are contending for healthy relationships—not just for ourselves, but for the good of our families, friends, and work places—for today and for generations to come.
When I saw their fear, I rose and spoke to the nobles,
the officials and the rest of the people:
“Do not be afraid of them; remember the Lord who is great and awesome,
and fight for your brothers,
your sons, your daughters, your wives and your houses.”
